Jubilee Year 2025 – Holy Doors Rome – 3 Day Pilgrimage

The Relics, the Holy Doors and the Legacy of St Benedict

IMPORTANT: Pilgrims wishing to pass through the Holy Doors during the Jubilee Year must register and book time slots here.

In anticipation of the opening of the Holy Doors throughout the Holy Year of the Jubilee in 2025, Crucis pilgrimage package offers the unforgettable experience of visiting the most important churches of Rome including the Holy Doors of the 4 Major Basilicas. Pilgrims who enter the Holy Doors of all four Major Basilicas can receive a Partial Indulgence under the normal conditions.

“May pilgrimage be an impetus to conversion: by crossing the threshold of the Holy Door, we will find the strength to embrace God’s mercy and dedicate ourselves to being merciful with others as the Father has been with us.”

– Pope Francis, 20th November 2015.

Our Jubilee Year 2025, Holy Doors 3-day Pilgrim Package consists of four separate tours that together cover all of the most important locations for Catholic pilgrims and objects of veneration in Rome. All four of the Major Basilicas are explored, with their rich stories weaved into Catechesis by our expert devout Catholic guides.

Usually running from Thursday to Saturday (although private bookings may be tailored to your requirements), this package creates a fine value for money option for those seeking to squeeze the most important sacred sites, relics and icons into a whistle-stop tour of Rome.

You’ll also take in some of the Eternal City’s most breath-taking panoramic vistas and the most idyllic yet lesser known treasures of the monastic life that has quietly existed here since the early 5th century.

For a precise breakdown of our 3-Day Pilgrim Package see the Itinerary tab above as well as the individual pages dedicated to each tour.

Rome’s four Major Basilicas are St Peter’s, St Paul Outside the Walls, St Mary Major and the Arch-Basilica Cathedral of St John Lateran. The first is surely the most famous church in the world; the last is the highest ranking church in the world. All four are locations of the Holy Doors that will open throughout the Jubilee year of 2025 for pilgrims to pass through and gain a Partial Indulgence under the normal conditions.

The Relics of Christ’s Passion were mostly brought to Rome from Jerusalem in the 4th century by St Helena following the legalisation of Christianity in the empire. Our tour on day 3 explores the Via Crucis – the Way of the Cross – as we venerate the most precious artefacts in Christendom.

You’ll also explore the lives and legacies of the two Pillars of the Church, Saints Peter and Paul, and visit their relics, sarcophagi and locations where they were imprisoned here in Rome.

Finally our Religious Life exploration takes you on an exhilarating journey around some of the city’s most beautiful and holy places, with several photo-opportunities as we gaze across the city at the dome of St Peter’s and other breathtaking sights.

Let Crucis Tours guide you on your pilgrimage to the city where Christianity was founded, the power centre of the world at the time of the Crucifixion and the heart of the Church to this day.

For those who wish to only do individual Major Basilicas not part of a pilgrimage package, then we also offer the standalone Holy Door tours of each Major Basilica – the Basilica of St Peter Tour, the Cathedral of St John Lateran Tour, the Basilica of St Paul Outside the Walls Tour and the Basilica of St Mary Major Tour.
